Kamerata Novi Sad, „jedan je od najuzbudljivijih ansambala na našim prostorima, zbir izuzetnih solista, individualaca koji svojom posvećenošću muzici, međusobnim prijateljstvom i disciplinom stvaraju jedinstvenu zajedničku energiju i zvuk“ (A.Vrebalov). Ove je ansambl koji može da „parira renomiranim evropskim orkestrima“ (I. Žebeljan), „izuzetno fleksibilan, profesionalan sa plemenitim i izražanim zvukom“ (K. Janković). Kamerata Novi Sad izrasla je iz ansambla koji je prvi put nastupio 1988. godine pod nazivom Kamerata Akademika. Reč je o sastavu koji je delovao u okviru Akademije umetnosti Univerziteta u Novom Sadu i od samog početka bio sinonim za profesionalnost i uspeh u muziciranju. U prvoj etapi svog delovanja, pod umetničkim rukovodstvom violončeliste Ištvana Varge, važio je za jedan od najboljih ansambala na prostoru bivše Jugoslavije. Orkestar je redovno nastupao u svim većima gradovima regiona i na festivalima poput NOMUSA, BEMUSA, Ohridskog leta, Međunarodne tribine kompozitora, u Bduva Grad-teatru. Ostvario je i uspešna gostovanja u Nemačkoj i Holandiji, te veliki broj trajnih radijskih i televizijskih snimaka. Ovaj orkestar je sa uspehom delovao do kraja 1999. godine, kada – zbog političkih okolnosti u zemlji – prestaje da postoji.
Krajem 2007. godine, violončelista Marko Miletić odlučuje da obnovi rad ovog ansambla, sa idejom da nastavi tradiciju koju je započeo Ištvan Varga. Orkestar čine najbolji mladi muzičari Akademije umetnosti – profesori, asistenti, docenti i najtalentovaniji studenti. Na repertoaru ovog ansambla uvek su veoma zahtevna dela klasičnog repertoara, ali i dela savremenih autora, posebno domaćih. Koncerti se realizuju kroz angažovane projekte u kojima se promoviše ekologija, rodna ravnoravnost, nacionalne i supranacionalne vrednosti, multikulturalnost, pomoć marginalizovanim grupama, te posebna naklonost kao kulturnom uzdizanju dece i mladih. Kamerata na ovaj način beleži brojne uspehe i to nastupajući s uglednim solistima i dirigentima kao što su: Stefan Milenković, Roman Simović, Žerar Kose, Vendi Vorner, Ištvan Varga, Filip Grinberg, Andreas Otenzamer, Nebojša Živković, Simon Lamsma, Ksenija Janković i drugi.
Kamerata akademika odigrala je veoma bitnu ulogu u kampanji Novog Sada za dobijanje titule Evropske Prestonice Kulture i bila je izuzetno aktivna u promociji grada kroz različite programe koje je Fondacija Novi Sad 2022 organizovala. Upravo zato je postala zvanično gradski kamerni orkestar i ponela i nov naziv – Kamerata Novi Sad. Među programima koje su izvedeni u okviru EPK 2022 bilo je brojnih krosover muzičkih sadržaja u kojima je Kamerata Novi Sad uspela da uskladi klasični zvuk sa rok atmosferom Bajage i Instruktora, sa nju primitivs numerama Nelete Karajlića, miksturom različitih žanrova Ramba Amadeusa, sa sevdahom Boža Vreće ili sa jedinstvenim stilom Enigme.
Kamerata Novi Sad redovno nastupa na festivalu NEO u Novom Sadu, a nastupala je i na festivalima „Tartini 330“ u Trstu i Portorožu, „Oktoh“ u Kragujevcu i „Jesenja sonata“ u Banjaluci, na NOMUS-u, SOMUS-u, na manifestaciji Grad-Teatar Budva, na festivalima Konvivium muzikum u Kragujevcu, Ravanelijusu u Ćupriji, Arlemmu u Arilju, Danima Duhovnosti u Raški i na Banjaluka Festu. U sezoni 2021/2022. ansambl je svirao na otvaranju prve gradske koncertne dvorane u Novom Sadu, gostovao u Kotoru, nastupao na Festivalu Kamerne muzike i Festivalu harfe u Novom Sadu. Trenutno se odvijaju koncerti izuzetne uspele transkripcije Orfove „Karmine Burane“ sa violinistom Stefanom Milenkovićem, a Kamerata je posebno ponosna na upravo objavljen kompakt disk sa našom renomiranom violončelistkinjom, Ksenijom Janković.
O izvrsnosti Kamerate akademike, pored sjanih kritika, svedoče reči znamenite srpske kompozitorke i akademika, Isidore Žebeljan: „Pored velike muzikalnosti i entuzijazma, ono što ovaj orkestar izdvaja i svrstava u sasvim posebnu kategoriju muzičkih sastava je ogromna ljubav i predanost kojom se muzičari prepuštaju sviranju i muzici samoj, a što je kvalitet, koji se i u razmerama evropski renomiranih orkestara, danas ne sreće baš često“.

Camerata Novi Sad, ie. Camerata Academica Novi Sad up until recently, was founded in 1988. within the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. In the first stage of its activity, under the artistic leadership of violoncellist István Varga, it was considered to be one of the best orchestras in the region of ex-Yugoslavia. The orchestra regularly performed in all the major cities of the region, as well as at the festivals such as NOMUS (Novi Sad Music Festivities), BEMUS (Belgrade Music Festival), Ohrid Summer Festival, International Review of Composers, and Theatre City in Budva. They had successful guest appearances in Germany and the Netherlands, as well as a high number of archived radio and TV recordings. The orchestra performed successfully until the end of 1999 when, unfortunately, it ceased to exist due to the situation in the country.
At the end of 2007, yet another violoncellist, Marko Miletić, assembled the orchestra with the idea of continuing Varga’s tradition. Members of the orchestra are the best young musicians of the Academy of Arts – professors, assistants, assistant professors, and the most talented students. Performing the most challenging works of classical repertoire at their concerts, while always including the works of national composers as well, Camerata has had numerous successful concerts with renowned soloists and conductors such as Stefan Milenković, Roman Simović, Gerard Causse, Wendy Worner, Dragan Đorđević, Imre Kálmán, Boštjan Lipovšek, István Varga, Philip Greenberg, Laura Levai Aksin, Irena Josifoska, Andreas Ottensamer, and Darko Butorac all across the region (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro), as well as Nebojša Živković, Ksenija Janković, and many others.
Camerata Academica played an important role in the campaign of the city of Novi Sad for obtaining the title of the European Capital of Culture and is extremely active in promoting the city through various programs organized by the Foundation “Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture”. Through some of these programs, they ventured out from the classical music territory into highly interesting cooperation with rock singers such as Bajaga, Nele Karajlić, and Rambo Amadeus, as well as with sevdah music singer Božo Vreća.
Camerata Novi Sad regularly performs at the NEO Festival in Novi Sad while they have also performed at the following festivals: Oktoh in Kragujevac and Autumn Sonata in Banjaluka, NOMUS, SOMUS, Festival of Strung Players in Sremska Mitrovica, Maglič Fest in Kraljevo, Teatar City in Budva, Konvivium muzikum in Kragujevac, Ravanelijus in Ćuprija, Arlemm (Arilje Summer Music Festival) in Arilje, Raška spiritual ceremony in Raška and at Banja Luka Fest. During the last season, the ensemble performed at the opening ceremony of the first concert hall in the city of Novi sad, performed in Kotor, as well as at the Chamber Music Festival and Harp Festival in Novi Sad. They also began a highly interesting project – “Carmina Burana”, with violinist Stefan Milenković.
The ensemble’s activity is decorated with marvellous reviews on the tonal beauty and a unique tonal expression, which is why it is worth pointing out how Serbian composer and academic Isidora Žebeljan described Camerata: “Apart from grand musicality and enthusiasm, what makes this orchestra stand out and belong in a particular category of musical ensembles is the enormous love and devotion which the musicians dedicate to playing and the music itself, as well as the quality not often seen even in orchestras renowned across Europe”. As well, the leader of London Symphony Orchestra Roman Simović stated: “This is the most complete orchestra in Serbia.”
The artistic director of the orchestra is violoncellist Marko Miletić; the leader is violinist Robert Lakatoš.
Since last season, Camerata Novi Sad has been the city’s official chamber orchestra and has been performing under the auspices of the Cultural Center of Novi Sad.
Stefan Milenković, violina
Srpski Umetnik Veka (2002), Najhumanija osoba (2003) i Brend ličnost godine (2010), violinista Stefan Milenković vodi uspešnu dugogodišnju karijeru kao jedan od najtraženijih solista današnjice. Najistaknutiji violinista svoje generacije, Stefan Milenković nastupao je u svetski poznatim salama kao što su Karnegi sala u Njujorku, Kenedi centar u Vašingotinu, Suntori sala u Japanu, La Feniče u Veneciji… Kao solista nastupao je sa svim važnijim svetskim orkestrima među kojima su Simfonijski orkestar Indianapolisa, Berlinski simfonijski orkestar, Aspen kamerna simfonija, Filharmonija Helsinki, Radio orkestar Francuske, Boljšoj Teatar, Orkestar Meksika i orkestri Melburna i Kvinslenda u Australiji. Nastupao je pod dirigentskom palicom renomiranih umetnika, a neki od njih su Ser Nevil Mariner, Lorin Mazel, Vladimir Fedosejev i Daniel Oren.
U saradnji sa orkestrom RTV Slovenije i dirigentom Vladimirom Kulenovićem, 2019/2020 godine Milenković izdaje album čuvena dva koncerta za violinu i orkestar kompozitora L. V. Betovena i M. Bruha. Ubrzo nakon ove saradnje sledi turneja sa Festivalskim orkestrom Nju Džerzija, Rokford simfonijskim orkestrom, Hajdn orkestrom Bolcana, Italy itd. Nedavni nastupi uključuju saradnju sa Simfonijskim orkestrom Jute, Simfonijskim orkestrom Praga, Simfonijskim orkestrom grada Oklahome itd.
Od 2020-21, Milenković je umetnički direktor festivala Nei Suoni dei Luoghi u Italiji.
Svoju karijeru započeo je u ranom detinjstvu. Sa 10 godina svirao je na Božićnom koncertu u Vašingtonu za tadašnjeg američkog predsednika Ronalda Regana. Milenković osvaja nagrade na mnogobrojnim i prestižnim violinskim takmičenjima sveta. Svojim humanitarnim radom i zalaganjem pokazao je plemenitu stranu svoje ličnosti. Godine 2002, prima prestižnu Lifting up the World With Oneness Heart nagradu, koja mu je lično dodeljena od strane gurua Sri Činmoja. U saradnji sa organizacijom UNESCO-a u Parizu, nastupao je na brojnim koncertima sa umetnicima kao što su Plasido Domingo, Loren Mazel, Aleksis Vajzenberg i Jehudi Menuhin.
Devedesetih godina bio je Prvi Dečiji Ambasador na Balkanu.
Kao muzičar širokih stilskih interesovanja, Milenković je nastupao sa pet puta Grammy nominovanim rock-bendom Gorillaz u poznatom Apolo teatru u Harlemu, Njujork. Ovaj veliki događaj uživo je prenosio kanal MTV. Nedavna saradnja uključuje nastupe sa Grammy nominovanim lautistom Edinom Karamazovim, kao i dugogodišnje muzičko prijateljstvo sa Vlatkom Stefanovskim i njegovim triom, u kome Milenković istražuje svet improvizacije i akustične električne violine. Milenkovićeva diskografija obuhvata četiri komercijalna izdanja italijanske kuće Dynamic, uključujući kompletne sonate i partite za solo violinu kompozitora J. S. Baha, kompletnu muziku za solo violinu, 24 Kaprisa, kao i In cuor piu non mi sento italijanskog kompozitora N. Paganinija. Milenković je snimio mnogobrojna izdanja za jugoslovensku kuću PGP. Njegov CD klavirskog tria i klavirskog kvinteta kompozitora Vitorija Đaninija, izdat je u saradnji sa umetnicima Mančester muzičkog festivala.
Duboko posvećen pedagoškom radu i u saradnji sa Isakom Perlmanom, Milenković je predavao na čuvenoj Muzičkoj akademiji Džulijard u Njujorku i Perlman Muzičkom programu. Radio je 15 godina kao redovan profesor violine na Univerzitetu Ilinois u Urbana-Šampejnu. Kao najmlađi diplomirani umetnik master studija na Muzičkoj akademiji Univerziteta u Beogradu, nastavlja svoje školovanje i usavršavanje na prestižnoj Džulijard školi u Njujorku, pod mentorstvom pedagoga Doroti Delej. Trenutno je umetnički direktor nove muzičke sale u Novom Sadu i redovni profesor violine na Akademiji umetnosti u Novom Sadu. Milenković svira na violini poznatog italijanskog graditelja instrumenata Đovani Batista Gvadanjinija iz 1783. godine.
Serbia’s Artist of the Century, Most Humane Person, and Brand Personality of the Year, violinist Stefan Milenkovich enjoys a prolific career as an internationally sought-after soloist and recitalist, with an extraordinary productive longevity, professionalism and creativity.
Established as one of the foremost violinists of his generation, Milenkovich appeared on multiple occasions in some of the world’s most celebrated venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York City (USA), Kennedy Center, Washington (USA), Cadogan Hall, London (UK), Suntory Hall, Tokyo (Japan), as well as Italy’s theatres La Fenice, Venice, San Carlo, Naples, and Petruzzelli, Bari. His numerous appearances with orchestra include Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Berlin Symphony Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Aspen Chamber Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Radio-France, Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra, National Orchestra of Belgium, Mexico State Symphony, Orquestra Sinfonica de Estado de Sao Paolo, and the Melbourne and Queensland Symphonies, and has performed under the baton of such conductors as Sir Neville Marriner, Lorin Maazel, Vladimir Fedoseyev, and Daniel Oren.
Milenkovich’s 2019-2020 season includes release of Beethoven and Bruch Violin Concertos, recorded with Slovenian Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra and conductor Vladimir Kulenovic, as well as performances with New Jersey Festival Orchestra (USA), Rockford Symphony (USA), Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano (Italy), Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali (Italy), L’Orchestra della Fondazione Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi di Trieste (Italy), Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Italy), Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana (Italy), Orchestra Camera di Perugia (Italy), along with regular performances in recital with pianist Rohan De Silva and Vladimir Milosevic. Recent performances include collaboration with Utah Symphony Orchestra (USA), Prague Symphony Orchestra (Czech Republic), Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra (USA), Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra (USA), Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi (Italy), and Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra (Slovenia). For 2020-21, Milenkovich also accepted the role of Artistic Director of “Nei Suoni dei Luoghi” music festival in Italy.
Milenkovich started his career at a very young age. He performed for U.S. President Ronald Reagan at a Christmas concert in Washington, DC, at age 10. The following year, he played for Mikhail Gorbachev in Belgrade, Serbia. At age 14, he played for Pope John Paul II and at age 16, Milenkovich gave his 1000th concert in Monterrey, Mexico.By age 17, he was the winner of The Young Concert Artists International Competition (USA), as well as a prizewinner in the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (USA), the Queen Elisabeth Competition (Belgium), Hannover Violin Competition (Germany), Tibor Varga Competition (Switzerland), Rodolfo Lipizer Competition (Italy), Paganini Competition (Italy), Ludwig Spohr Competition (Germany), and the Yehudi Menuhin Competition (England).
Deeply committed to international humanitarian causes, in 2002 Milenkovich received the Lifting Up the World With Oneness Heart award for his humanitarian activities, handed to him personally by the guru Sri Chinmoy. He also participated in a number of gala concerts under the auspices of UNESCO in Paris with such artists as Placido Domingo, Lorin Maazel, Alexis Weissenberg, and Sir Yehudi Menuhin, and was active as the First Child Ambassador in early 90’.
As a musician of broad stylistic interests, Milenkovich performed with five-time Grammy Nominee rock band Gorillaz in one of the world’s most renowned venues – Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York City. The critically acclaimed performance was featured live on MTV. Recent collaborations include performances with Grammy Award Nominee lutist Edin Karamazov, as well as a musical partnership with guitarist Vlatko Stefanovski and his trio, where Milenkovich explored the realm of improvisation and acoustic-electric violin.
Milenkovich’s discography includes four commercial releases of the Italian label Dynamic, featuring J. S. Bach Complete Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, Complete Music for Solo Violin – Nicolo Paganini 24 Capricci, N. Paganini Recital, and N. Paganini In cuor piu non mi sento. He also released numerous recordings for the Yugoslavian label, PGP. Milenkovich’s recent CD release includes a First Recording disc with the Manchester Music Festival of Vittorio Giannini’s Piano Trio and Piano Quintet.
Firmly dedicated to pedagogical work for over two decades, Milenkovich taught in collaboration with Itzhak Perlman at the Juilliard School in New York City, NY, and Perlman Music Program, as well as held a position as an Associate Professor of Violin at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Milenkovich is still the youngest graduate of the Music Academy in Belgrade, Serbia, finishing his Masters’ studies at 19 years of age, and has completed the Professional Studies program at the Juilliard School in New York City, NY under tutelage of Mrs. Dorothy DeLay. Currently, Stefan Milenkovich is Artistic Director of the new concert hall in Novi Sad, Serbia, as well as Associate Professor of Violin at the University of Novi Sad.
